Leaning Into the Future: Pietro Fiorentini hosts 44 consultants from the Lean Global Network
17 September 2026 - CorporateOn September 9, 2026, Pietro Fiorentini welcomed 44 consultants from 23 countries at its headquarters for the annual meeting of the Lean Global Network, the international non-profit consortium bringing together lean institutes from around the world.
Mario Nardi, CEO of Pietro Fiorentini, opened the day with a welcome address, before the people who lived the company’s lean journey, which began in 2000, took the floor to share its story.
A few numbers tell that story well:
- 277 kaizen weeks completed
- 81% of employees engaged in at least one kaizen event
- 85 people dedicated full-time to continuous improvement
True to lean practice, the day naturally moved to the gemba, where value is actually created: consultants split into 9 teams, working side by side with Pietro Fiorentini colleagues. One team travelled to the plant in Trissino, entirely dedicated to biomethane, to tackle material shipment flows to job sites. The other teams took on challenges ranging from relayouts of production and warehouse spaces to optimizing how people and materials move, from validating new production lines to studying the Hoshin Kanri process and developing planning standards for managers.
The day wrapped up in the afternoon with teams sharing the results they’d achieved, along with a closing thought from our CEO on what comes next for Pietro Fiorentini: bringing Artificial Intelligence and lean processes together, to get the best out of both.
