{"id":21930,"date":"2022-12-13T12:23:10","date_gmt":"2022-12-13T11:23:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiorentini.com\/?page_id=19814"},"modified":"2025-01-13T09:01:55","modified_gmt":"2025-01-13T08:01:55","slug":"hydrogen","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.fiorentini.com\/en\/about-us\/expertise\/hydrogen\/","title":{"rendered":"Hydrogen"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The perfect ally for sustainable energy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Hydrogen was the first element to form following the Big Bang and alone makes up almost <strong>90% of the universe\u2019s mass<\/strong>, even though it is the lightest of all the elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hydrogen has some fundamental characteristics that make it the perfect ally for facing the planet\u2019s energy challenge:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>it is an energy vector that <strong>does not produce polluting emissions in its end uses<\/strong> (its combustion does not release CO<sub>2<\/sub>, but rather water in the form of steam);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>it is <strong>easier to store and transport <\/strong>than electricity and natural gas pipelines can be used for this purpose.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Compared to natural gas, however, hydrogen has many different characteristics, particularly in how it interacts with materials. Thus, accurate studies and tests are required to fully understand the impacts and reliable and safe solutions for energy exploitation must be found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hydrogen is an element that can currently only be injected into the pipeline network and mixed with natural gas up to certain percentages. Our commitment is to <strong>create systems and devices that increase this mixing percentage<\/strong>, a technological challenge that will open up incredible opportunities for the development of more sustainable energy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hydrogen combustion does not release carbon dioxide, but rather steam, and it is easier to transport and store than electricity.
